I'm Michael Visser. I build software and systems for churches, and I still think the best ideas usually happen in good conversation.
I've loved tinkering with things for as long as I can remember. My dad would give me toys to play with, and eventually, they ended up in pieces. I've always been curious about how things work and how I could make them better.
I grew up in the local church. It was there that I began a lifelong love of music. Not only did I learn to play a few instruments, but the church has always been the place for me where technology and creativity intersected. In my mid-twenties, I ended up working for Gateway Church in Dallas, TX. I was surrounded by incredible mentors and leaders who gave me the opportunity to learn how to code.
Today, most of my attention is on Parable, a product that helps churches turn scattered data into clarity. I also co-founded Threefold Solutions, where the heartbeat is simple: healthy churches run on healthy systems. A lot of ministry pain hides in workflows, handoffs, and tools nobody really trusts, and I love helping teams untangle that.
ChurchKit is the newest expression of that same idea: a place for church creatives and operators to find inspiration, resources, and practical tools for engaging their people well. In all of it, I am chasing the same thing: technology as an accelerant for ministry, not a distraction from it.
Outside of work, I am usually lost somewhere between a good book, an AI rabbit hole, a meal with friends, and the nagging question of whether a cocktail needs one more dash of bitters. I like building useful things, but I like useful things even more when they make room for better conversations.
